Final conference

On November 21, the final conference of the Erasmus+60 project took place in Brussels with partners, researchers, and project stakeholders. Together, we concluded a project that began three years earlier. We explored innovative ways to integrate citizens aged 60 and + into higher education, ensuring they continue to thrive in society. Here are our conclusions and our vision for the future.

During this event, we presented the different conclusions about lifelong learning for seniors:

  • Our findings highlighted the need to diversify learning programs and fully integrate education into seniors' daily lives. This would not only provide them with the opportunity to learn but also to share their experiences. We emphasized the importance of offering educational programs in multiple languages for more accessibility.

  • Our policy recommendations suggest that lifelong learning should be included in the broader mission of Higher Education Institutions. Concerted effort to enhance resources and improve accessibility, particularly in rural areas and care facilities, is essential. We assert that legislative support from member states is essential, and we propose that the European Union take an active role in promoting best practices in senior education.

  • We suggest promoting Intergenerational Learning programs that emphasize collaboration, prioritize sustainability, and create a supportive environment between generations.

As part of our ongoing efforts, we have created seven e-learning courses specifically designed for seniors. We have also conducted a detailed analysis to identify areas where we can improve these courses.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our partners involved and to the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union for co-funding this project. The results of the last 3 years have encouraged us to continue and follow up.

Therefore, with our partners, we will do our best to follow up this innovative and promising project.
We will be happy to share the next development with you !
